Who this is for

Anyone who needs to reach a construction site right after the registration is recorded, before the crews and suppliers are locked in.

Erosion and sediment control installers

Silt fence, inlet protection, construction entrances, matting, hydroseed. Disturbed acreage tells you how much product the site will take; the status tells you whether DEQ has issued coverage yet or the registration is still in review.

This is the actual statewide digest for registrations DEQ recorded between 2026-09-23 and 2026-10-06, built from DEQ's daily GIS layer. On the public page, operator email and phone are shown as present or absent. Subscribers get the values as filed, plus the permit number and site address, for the whole state or only the localities they ask for.

What it is not

It is not a same-day alert; DEQ records registrations on weekdays and each Tuesday issue covers the previous working week. It is not a bid list, and it includes no sites below one acre, which do not need VAR10 coverage. Nothing in it comes from anywhere but DEQ's own record.

What is a VAR10 registration?
The registration statement an operator files with DEQ (or the local stormwater program) to get coverage under Virginia's General VPDES Permit for Discharges of Stormwater from Construction Activities. It is required for land disturbance of one acre or more, and it is filed before grading starts.
Where does the data come from?
DEQ's public GIS layer of stormwater permits, which DEQ updates daily. NOI Watch reads it, keeps the new registrations, and formats them. Nothing is added from any other source, and the operator contact is reproduced exactly as filed.
What does "in review" mean?
DEQ has recorded the registration but has not yet issued coverage. Those rows are the earliest public signal; the issue shows them alongside registrations whose coverage was issued that week.
Can I get just my localities?
Yes. Reply to any issue with the list, for example Loudoun County, Fairfax Co., Prince William County, and the next issue covers only those. Change it as often as you like.
How do I cancel?
Reply to any issue, or use the Stripe billing link in your receipt. Cancellation stops the next charge.
